We have been a purebred cattle farm since the early 40's. We purchased our first Gelbvieh bull in 1980 to put on a commercial herd of cattle. We were so impressed with their excellent traits that we became purebred Gelbvieh breeders in 1990. We now run 120 breeding age females (100 Gelbvieh and 20 Balancers). We are in our 5th generation of family on the farm and have our fifth generation of Gelbvieh on the ground.
We think that Gelbvieh do more things right than any other breed of cattle. We believe that Gelbvieh genetics will soon be incorporated into the majority of beef producing herds in America.
We have been cross breeding Gelbvieh and Angus since 1980. We do not see these super cattle as anything but seedstock. The bulls enable us to get genetics into herds that have never been willing to try Gelbvieh. After using Balancer bulls cattlemen have seen the many positive traits of Gelbvieh and are singing their praises. The Balancer heifers have been retained and will be sold as seedstock in the future.
